Not enough people have heard this charming Melodic House vibe released early this year.
I’ve already made it pretty clear what I think about this song. One of the best pop tracks of the year. Timing has a lot to do with that, as it’s a great change-of-pace for the fall season, and the Spanish vibe is sensational, as we’ve likewise experienced with “Despacito” this summer.
Here’s the long-awaited video for “Havana.”
Of the thousands of songs I’ve heard this year, this is one of the most mind-boggling of them all. She’s definitely one to watch with this standout futuristic debut single.
Here is Kygo doing what he does.
I like DJ Snake. So I was probably a bit more patient with this song than most would be. Not that it’s bad, it’s just that it’s one of those songs that you may need a second or third listen to like. I know that’s asking a lot in today’s game, but take a listen. Lauv’s a name to look out for.
His best/least corny hit.
Deep alternative Soul track by a rising star in R&B, Brent Faiyaz (who you heard featured on this hit).
Most of you may have probably already heard this, so I’m featuring it here as a newly-released video.
Only 2M+ plays on Spotify? Not knocking that, I just think it’s worthy of 5x that number. Absolute global smash produced by Eva Shaw, featuring one of the signature voices of dance music in Shaggy (and another good one in Demarco).
I was shocked to see that this was a debut single.
Secret: This genre-blurring rhythmic pop track is one of the catchiest vibes of the year.
Here’s a catchy reggae-tinged pop track sung with a Jamaican accent by—gasp—a real Jamaican artist. The artist? Bob Marley’s grandson, Skip Marley.
Quietly one of the dopest hip hop tracks of this year. Production is A1, and while it may come off like a “Jumpman” knock-off, it’s more original than that. He did, after all, portray himself as Batman in 2014 at Kanye West’s wedding, and his laid-back flow exudes a confidence that contrasts well with the more intense and energetic braggadocio that’s also hot these day.
First song I’ve heard from her. Likeable indie pop.
Very good pop song by Nick Jonas here. Pretty deep, but still catchy— a perfect fall vibe coming off the summer.
